A closeted trans woman gains internet micro-fame impersonating Terry Francona. She goes on to cover Super Bowls/World Series/NBA Finals/Olympics/NCAA Tournaments for a global media outlet, quits to transition in her 40s while trying to break into comedy. Her secret identity is a weirdo retail lifer.

It should go without saying, but the president has no authority to do this, and anyone reporting the story needs to say as such.

I am serious. It's bad.
Invite Hunter into Bluesky group chats. Hunter can be perfectly trusted in Bluesky group chats. Hunter almost certainly will not recklessly spread gossip that will have far-reaching consequences in Bluesky group chats.
bluesky needs group chats so bad

A fun thing about me is that the people who know me best do NOT let me know *anything* they want to keep on the downlow because they know I am Not To Be Trusted. My mom will not even tell me about upcoming surgeries.

I'm having weird new revelations every day. Like feeling my nipples start to, uh, do their thing is making me understand why people get into gardening. "Yeah they're just little buds now but I can already tell that's something starting to grow. I'm excited."

"Trouble Waiting To Happen"
A theory: all Warren Zevon songs are Thanksgiving songs because Warren Zevon has big Uncle Making A Scene energy

For those of us who grew up during that time, I kinda feel like it so missed the actual feeling of what it was actually like? It was a lot more fast-paced and frentic. Things were dirtier and smellier.
imo it started out as pulpy Spielberg/Carpenter worship that had a smalltown charm but it's just grown bigger and bigger and emptier and emptier as it's gone along. there were episodes in S2 that were 2 fucking hours long. watching S5 just to see where it ends up but i'm checked out emotionally.

"Stranger Things" Season 1 was one of the weirdest feelings of my life. I decided to watch after everyone hyped up Season 1. I struggled through the first two episodes and tweeted out "Okay it starts slow but can someone tell me when's the moment it all comes together?" and people were like "what?"

Kathy Ireland essentially had to learn how to act while being the star of a feature film in "Alien From L.A." (And Albert Pyun is, uh, very much not an actor-oriented director.) She's in basically one mode throughout the entire thing but also that kind of puts the audience on her side.

Before I watched the "Alien From L.A." sequel I did not know if I could write 900 words on it. Now that I have seen the whole Magnum Opus, I feel like I'm ready to write the definitive breakdown of this film.
I don’t care how awful the movie is, I am a sucker for the “music will save the universe” conceit

I'm sorry if this is confusing and doesn't make sense to anybody but I can tell you that watching both of the movies in their entirety doesn't clear up the situation at all
"Journey To The Center Of The Earth," which was mostly filmed first, was reworked to be a sequel to "Alien From L.A." which was entirely filmed afterwards. Basically halfway through "Journey Of The Center Of The Earth," some of the characters just accidentally wander into another movie's sequel.

The thing that beats the bad guys is rock music. Rock music played on speakers defeats the bad guys. Kathy Ireland appears for 30 seconds and has no lines.
Genuimely got excited to see characters from Alien From LA again in this. It's like hey these people are from the entertaining bad movie.

I'm now the one person invested in this shared universe. This keeps happening to me.

This is a really sick story.

From everything I know, Boston’s Logan Airport is a legitimately dangerous place to travel through.

This character is a punk rocker named Billy Foul. If his gig isn't a success he'll have to go back to his old job. That job? You guessed it, teaching karate.

"If you weren't a nanny what would you do?"

"I don't know. Teach karate?"

Oh this one is going to be so bad.

Oh thank god. This is on Tubi. If I had to pay money for this I would be so annoyed.
Okay. I have just now learned that "Alien From L.A." was essentially a reshoot of "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" which was released as a separate film after Albert Pyun salvaged the incompetent efforts of director Rusty Lemonade.

I really am not doing a bit, my brain really thinks the name of the show is "Plurbius" and not "Pluribus." This is a really bad show title. I mean maybe the worst ever.
Okay the simplest possible cliffhanger is just to have a character be shocked at something the audience can't see and which won't be revealed until the next episode but Rhea Seehorn managed to turn it into something special.

This opening bit feels like an extended dig on armchair Libertarian apocalypse fantasies and I love it.
Okay I am going to watch the new Plurbius episode before diving back into the "Alien From LA" world because I need reminders of what it's like when people are making things that end up being good.
