Game dev is wild because it's like ten jobs in one, and if you don't do them all perfectly, someone will complain. And the industry is all sorts of awful right now. Just making an attempt is admirable, IMO. It does suck though. I'm trying to make it my primary, and it's frustrating as hell. =(
Here's a great video showing the process. Epic defaults all the features on, but Unreal is more than happy to let you scale things back to "old school" DX11 and SM5.

Borderlands 4 is using all the buzzy features, and that's exactly my point. They aren't needed, but studios (i.e., managers looking for shortcuts to save money) have fallen for Epic's marketing thinking they will magically make development easier. But they can also be turned off easily in UE5.
UE5 gets a lot of hate, but it can scale surprisingly well. Epic is pushing buzzy features for pretty graphics, but they can all be turned off. And unless you target only the most powerful machines, the virtualization pipeline is, ironically, a LOT more work.

Not to rain on your parade, but I would strongly consider making those drop-down boxes. Unless you have some kind of "Apply" button, it would be annoying having the resolution change with every click. Also, easier to see all available options with a drop-down. Style is cool though!
I've spent the past few weeks writing out the story and locking down art direction and gameplay mechanics for my next game. I haven't touched my dev machine, and it's killing me not having "worked on anything". But I know now from my last game how important this part is.

After years of working (struggling) with #UE5, I am FINALLY feeling comfortable with it. Being able to understand the in-depth tutorials now feels amazing. Unreal is a beast, but it can be tamed. Keep at it, y'all! You'll get there! 👨‍💻🎮

Ohh, shoulda tried that! And yeah, it felt like the mouse and keyboard were fighting the controller or something. Controller worked fine.
Played. Good start! Is it controller only? My mouse was giving weird inputs. Also, I knocked the camera over, so I couldn't take a photo to progress. 😬 But I like all the different mechanics, and I think you can really flesh something out here. Great job!
Yes, that would be neat! Or maybe a mechanic that has to be activated to trigger the recovery faster? But anyway, looks fun. Hope the release goes smoothly!
This is really cool! (Pardon the pun.) Maybe there could be something you can do while stamina recovers? I feel like waiting for the bar to fill could get boring. Unless the point is to take moments to observe?
Feel like I'ma get haunted just touching that thing.
And even graphics are becoming more accessible to indie devs. There's so much you can do now with modern engines, and the creativity and drive of the indie community is awesome to see. There's really no reason to keep paying for the big-budget microtransaction live service online-only slop.
Now that Snooze is past the release sales spike, I'm debating on how much I should put into drawing back interest. NGL, I got addicted to watching the sales count go up and am bummed since it stopped. But hey, I'm happy it did well at all. And an update is still coming!

Helpful #gamedev tip -- When saving your game, if you're overwriting a previous save DON'T open that file for write access. Depending on OS and your library and moon phases, this may set up for corruption if the program is interrupted. Instead, save a new file and rename it to overwrite.
Seems to be a security issue with that version of the package. Can you update the Magick.NET NuGet package in Visual Studio?

You can also change the setting that treats warnings as errors, but that might not be a good idea.
