🚓 🎉 We are elated to see Mayor Solomon’s recommitment to Vision Zero & announcement for a dedicated traffic enforcement division. A dedicated division will build long-term, sustainable capacity + redouble JCPD’s efforts for traffic enforcement. Traffic enforcement is a key component to achieving VZ.

Please call and text and request Murphy veto the ebike bill if you live in New Jersey. My Mom rode a Class 1 ebike until a few months before her death at 87. It was the only way she could go grocery shopping. And lots of her friends used them to get around as well. They were life rafts for them.
We'll know within the next 4 days and 2 hours if Governor Murphy will veto the poorly written Motorized Bicycle Bill S4834/A6235 into law.

Call the Governor - (609) 292-6000
Text the Governor - (732) 605-5455

👏👏👏 Excellent op-ed by Maya Pontón Aronoff: Murphy must veto anti-safety, anti-affordability, & anti-immigrant e-bike bill

Will @govmurphy.bsky.social cap his last term, by signing the country's most punitive e-bike laws in the country?

Tell Governor Murphy no:

👋 Hey bus riders!

NJ TRANSIT is testing two different e-ink screen solutions that could be used as information signs at bus stops in the future.

Both would display & announce real-time departure times & service alerts.

Your feedback would be appreciated—take a look🧵👇

Im really glad that every Hudson County commissioner and the county executive ignored my email about preventing double parking for bus stops on Kennedy Blvd south of JSQ. There’s a lot of people who have mobility issues that use these bus stops

It passed committee. Here's the roll call.

Shame on Zwicker, in particular. He's supposed to be one of the better ones, but has been on a dumb guy streak lately.

& ofc my state senator, Burzichelli.

Republicans all voted no.

Senator Scutari's grossly irresponsible e-bike bill has advanced again, despite being a knee-jerk reaction to 2 women being murdered by a man using a car as a weapon. It would criminalize e-bike riders and discourage safe and sustainable transport, and it must be stopped.

Kris Kolluri will stay on to head NJTRANSIT AND will lead the NJ Turnpike.

Pretty sure this has not been done before, here’s my story on what this means.
Sherrill makes unusual move in naming head of NJ Turnpike Authority
Mikie Sherrill's move to appoint Kris Kolluri to head two transportation agencies is meant to unify strategy to improve commutes for NJ residents.

It’s no secret that improving mobility is my whole world—from my day job as a transportation planner, to my nonprofit advocacy work at @bikejc.org and @hudcostreets.org.

Whether you walk, bike, take transit, or drive, transportation affects us daily and has much room for improvement.

Please, can Jersey City and Newark government do this for route 1&9 connecting New Jersey's two largest cities together and making it safe for pedestrians and cyclists.
Zohran just went out and fixed the Williamsburg Bridge bike entrance. Just did it. No faffing, no nonsense. Bam. Fixed.

Looks like they will be running service every 15 minutes on the 119 on Saturdays, instead of every 20.
🚌 🎉 Thank you NJ Transit! Much needed frequency improvements. More weekend service coming to the 119 and more weekday service coming to the 125 🚌 🎉

We'll continue advocating for faster, more frequent, and more reliable buses.

Someone on reddit posted what looks like a faregate installation at the Hoboken HBLR station?

HBLR use proof-of-payment but it’s infamously easy to fare dodge due to minimal fare enforcement staffing. It seems we might be moving towards a hybrid system where the busiest systems get faregates.

N.J. weighs return of traffic cameras, targeting school bus violations first
A bill that would allow use of cameras to catch drivers passing school buses loading and unloading children could overturn New Jersey's ban on using cameras to enforce traffic laws.
