The legends Pusha T and Malice of Clipse are on Song Exploder. We talked about "The Birds Don't Sing," a heartbreaking song about the loss of their parents. Featuring John Legend and Stevie Wonder (!!) as guests, and Pharrell on production. songexploder.net/clipse

Today’s Song Exploder is one of my favorite episodes so far, about one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s incredible to hear just how different A-ha’s “Take on Me” was when it started, and the work, creativity, and luck it required to turn it into the giant hit it became. songexploder.net/a-ha

@duolingoesp.bsky.social seems to have started replacing their weird, wonderful voice cast with AI, and it SUCKS. I’m missing the personality that actors brought to the characters the app uses for storytelling. The flat, generic AI voices = a flat, generic lesson. Can’t believe they don’t get that.

I’ll never forget discovering Song Exploder in the submission queue. What I thought was someone randomly uploading a Postal Service track turned out to be one of the coolest podcasts I’d heard by @hrishikesh.co. I recommended to editorial that we feature it immediately. The rest is history.

I have a lot of fun with Samin Nosrat on our Home Cooking podcast, but this episode of Key Change is a different sort of conversation. I found her story—which connects to her relationship to the Ani DiFranco song ‘Untouchable Face’—very moving. I hope you will, too. songexploder.net/keychange

The song that's stuck in my head today: this cover of Arthur Russell's "This Is How We Walk on the Moon" by Speakers Corner Quartet, featuring Tirzah. Feels somber but resolute in a way that I really appreciate right now.
