Same thing with games and cartoons, people will always credit the studio that the works came from, and maybe, MAYBE, a showrunner, designer, director, or producer that people got convinced have "elevated beyond human ability"

It's easier to process for many then seeing the huge teams of people

A creation is still valid, even if you can see the seams or strings~

So what if you learned a fact like multiple characters share the same voice artist? Celebrate that this person has learned how to have such an vocal range that they can give life to many characters at once AND have them interact~

Because not only do they want what they are taken in to "feel" real, but they want to believe what created the works was something "non-human". This is all because of the misconception that something is only valid if it is "real", and that people cannot naturally create art

Another example we are reminded of this was when people were criticizing Lackadaisy as being "unfinished" cause of the team's stylistic choice to make sketch lines be occasionally visible

People were seeing a reminder that what they were watching was not "real", but a cartoon, and did not like that

And that is simply not true, being reminded that the fiction you enjoy is in fact, FICTION, created by PEOPLE, actually helps to not only make fiction feel more tangible, It helps remind that indeed, anyone can make a work of fiction~

And yes~ Anyone can~ Because that is the gift learning gives~

There was a comment to a voice actor interview that lives rent free in our minds. To paraphrase, it read "I cannot listen to this and learn about the person behind the character, for it would ruin the illusion"

... There is this misconception that leaning how fiction is made will "kill the magic"

Somehow we got through the first one... Key word being somehow, but it was one of the bosses that made us tap out... What made it rough too was didn't have our Wii U hooked to a TV so our only way to play was constant screen switching xD

Star Fox Zero is one for this system too, we tried SO hard to like it... But we could not click with the controls, which made the Boss fights rough cause we felt like we were fighting the controls more then the bosses themselves

Happened to a big project that we released last year, it spent 4 years in development hell because was getting too overwhelmed by the scope, now we are trying to prevent another project from hitting the same fate

Applies to those who are autistic too, you got to remember you can't just will the whole project done in one sitting... Or you just end up straining and burning out from being frustrated it's not done yet

I saw something recently that said a strategy for adhd is you just need to commit to doing 30%. The full scope of 100% of a project is just too overwhelming. So just start with some thumbnails or sketches for now and then commit to another 30% another day or week. Any progress IS progress

Doing 2D animation again for fun has been pretty great. Nothing is stopping you from animating characters you’ve always wanted to draw, the bonus being you hone your skills for that particular style or approach. Studying and applying from what I observe is what I enjoy the most about the process.

It's especially odd too since most productions, especially Disney ones, tend to be very strict about staying on model

Wonder if the keyframe artists for the remaining scenes just decided to roll with the look, or if another model sheet was made just for the haircut look to be maintained

The simple yet iconic designs are the most challenging to do redesigns for since it's always a balance of "what can I change while still feeling true to the character?" and they usually don't have that many features that can switch out

Unless it's the people who go "time to give this human hands"

The core in our system that loves writing laments because a word's definitions are often muddied based on how people interpret them and in turn react.

Many people saw "rejecting cringe" as us being like "I should be able to say any horrible thing I want"..

Yes... A lot of people treat cringe as an umbrella word... Which is what causes so much confusion and a lot of people to jump the gun

What we are talking about is how MANY people will categorize any sort of expression of joy as "cringe"

Gush about a movie you like? CRINGE

Favorite food? CRINGE
