Superb analysis of one of Hammer’s finest hours. Some minor quibbles aside - Brook Williams‘s low wattage, underwritten female characters and yes, too much bongo playing - this is Hammer at its peak. Morrell and Carson are just fabulous. The first great zombie film.

If you think Hammer was only films then you're very wrong. Hammer Productions were also extensively involved in theatre in the 40s and 50s.

I've spent this morning organising some of my collection of Hammer theatre programmes for a future project.
Wibbly is definitely a part of the lexicon now, as is Jo much it fits
