That final scene with the closing music. Utterly haunting. It just stays with you…

The proper one (ie Argento's)...but as to which version of that...I know it's in the Uk print, not sure about the Italian one.

Gotta say, I like the cut of Leo's jib!

I bailed out a couple of seasons previously. Shame. I had been pretty much peerless for so long.

And very satisfying in a "hey, I got an (almost) free dinner out of this"

I adore "Suspiria" all the more for having a Dad's Army ending...

No other film ending has ever gone this hard. Every time this rolls up on-screen I immediately think, “Damn right I have.”
Final shot of SUSPIRIA before the credits roll, which begin with the following:

It's kind of a chowder in "I wouldn't have started from here" chowder, in that I blitzed up some soup and then added a little milk. I think it would have come together better had I made it as a chowder from first principles. Still nice. I might put these up on the blog in the next couple of days.

Blitzed the remains of last night’s soup. Diced up another fillet of John Dory, and threw it in with some Conad prawns. Splash of milk to let it down and bring it all together, tin of sweetcorn, scattering of parsley. Lyfli!

You have to use the letters you’ve already used. So you can’t go off-piste at all. It makes some things more difficult, but it also stops you making silly mistakes. I don’t play on that mode because it does take more time 😂
pgjonesvenice.bsky.social
If you play in hard mode, as Elaine does, you don’t have the option of deliberately choosing a wrong word to eliminate letters. So, yes, it does make it harder but it also means if you get “one of those” it can just be a matter of luck…

I saw “Hollander” at Fenice two years ago and came away thinking….yes, conceptually this makes sense and I can see what the director is trying to do. I also thought somebody who had never seen the opera before would have no idea of what was going on…

Very much. She’ll always be Annie Hall age to me…

Got to line 4 and realised there were 3 possibilities left. So took a hit at line 5 to eliminate 2. #Wordle 1,576 6/6

Parsifal, to me, is entirely a mood piece. It’s an opera that - almost more than any other- can be adapted to anything.

My wife is away next week so I am sure as hell going to make fagioli Bud Spencer.
pgjonesvenice.bsky.social
Agree. Bud, surely, would have been tailor-made as a comic or serious presence in gialli. A terrible waste that he didn't do more!
pgjonesvenice.bsky.social
So much of the outrage directed at this is coming from people who I know have never plonked their arse on a pew in their life!
