That’s the tragic part: once collapse pressure rises, the instinct is always to shift blame & turn on each other.

It’s the oldest human pattern: Othering → defining survival through exclusion.
Fascism just industrializes that impulse.

Excellent review: October is the new September.
Even when extent “recovers” locally (like Chukchi), the Arctic system as a whole keeps losing stability.

Sea ice, snow cover, SSTs — all show the same signal: energy is trapped, not released.

Energy is no longer evenly distributed — the Arctic is overheating while the mid-latitudes swing between extremes.
The system is entering a non-linear phase, with each feedback feeding the next.

Energy and mass are just shifting — not easing.
High ice in the Chukchi likely mirrors deficits elsewhere, adding pressure to circulation and feedback patterns rather than signaling recovery.

In 2024, fossil fuel energy consumption hit a record high, with coal, oil, and gas all at peak levels. Combined solar and wind consumption also set a new record but was 31 times lower than fossil fuel energy consumption.
