If you’re in a creative field and you don’t lift up the work of your peers, you can’t expect people to care about your stuff
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
It very well may have been! I talk about it a lot. It’s really fun and scary and engaging. The characters have such depth.
Have you read the book? It’s one of my favorite books I read this year.
He can find nooks and crannies in blankets and just nestle himself in there and it’s always SO ADORABLE. 😭
I’m never going to know coziness like Créme Fraîche is able to find.

It was a really nice conversation. Judgement-free with lots of recommendations. 🥹

We also got to recommend the Modiphius Star Trek games to someone else in line and I thought of you!
My husband and I had only really just started (and are, quite frankly, going about it in the most chaotic way possible). It was also that person’s first NYCC *ever* and he asked us for guidance on how to get everything done in one day (it was all he had).

Just a really nice moment. 🥹
And the guy we were talking to was SO excited to hear that we had only just started watching. He was curious where we’d started, how we’d picked that, what we were enjoying. It was just a really pure & wholesome moment of fandom since it seemed clear to me he had been watching it for YEARS while
I had a lot of really fabulous conversations at NYCC, but one of my favorites was while my husband & I were in line for the Starfleet Academy booth on Thursday. The person behind us asked if we watched Star Trek and I explained that we had only been watching for about a year (heavily rounding up) —

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't
Heading home from a very fun NYCC. But after 2 weeks on the road, I am very excited to see my cats later today. 💖
Omg thank you! I loved hearing about “convention costumes” from you. It’s such a great idea!

Break a leg! That’s an excellent cardigan!
I have NO cute photos of me in this outfit. We may have to do an emergency photo session before I get to the con lol. 🫣
Happy Thursday of NYCC! Wearing a lot of pink today! If you see me, say hi! 💖
Incredibly kind waitress: this poor woman is having a bad time
Me, giggling: do you think there are 500 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy by the time Star Trek exists
“Oh, I’m fine. I’m laughing. We were debating how long Grey’s Anatomy would last into the future given unlimited budgets and its relevance in the TV landscape.”
My husband and I were having a very intense (but humorous) conversation this morning, which led to me cry-laughing at 5:30 At an airport restaurant. The very sweet waitress asked me if I was okay and, with tears in my eyes, I had to reply,

I tried to explain basically the entire comics economy to her. It was a very unexpected question!
I am prepared to answer SO MANY QUESTIONS about how my job works but I wasn’t prepared to answer “yeah, they…definitely still make comics and people buy them.”
