This is the question I am constantly thinking about. I sometimes choose to hope that there are people who take their oaths to the constitution seriously taking action (or inaction) that we just aren’t hearing about.

I don’t think it’s all that hard to rebut, but I think it goes to my perpetual discomfort with certain types of prayer and implied theology. This analogy will stick with me when I’m overthinking it.

I’ve only watched half of this on a whim, but he has a great take here on the “what’s the most powerful magic” question and why it isn’t friendship / love. I know little about D&D, but it felt like an excellent and simple rebuttal #blessed theology, too, which I enjoyed.

Honestly, it needs to go further than this.

We need to confront the fact that democracy and wealth hoarding cannot coexist. Allowing people to amass the resources of a small state/country allows them to act as such, which is inimical to a shared society of “one person, one vote.”

“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

I don’t think that it’s the best, but I’ve been rereading Northanger Abbey and it is way underrated. I think it should be the Austen entry point for more young people especially. It’s fun and funny. The satire is easier to follow. It’s got more actual plot. Just a good time all the way around.

Y’all might be convincing me to rewatch s3. It was such a disappointment when it aired that I have yet to give it another shot. I get annoyed thinking about it - just so much dissonance from the other 2 seasons. But maybe I can enjoy it if I go in with these positives to look for.

I'm becoming a regular at a local diner, and it's my favorite. Solid black coffee, friendly wait staff, humorous eavesdropping. And I'm actually productive getting work done here. I need them to love me back (jk, feelings are gross... calling me "hon" is enough).

Listen. ONE of the reasons I rock with Dolly (Capricorn Gang) is because she’s always proven to me that integrity may cause you pain, but it will never be the reason you suffer. Which is not to say that suffering won’t come, but it’ll never be because you abandoned yourself. That’ll keep you going.

I’d call it light fantasy (gods + magic + zombie-like creatures) with cozy mystery vibes. Enemies to lovers + secret pen pals. Open door but low smut. She’s a sunny, oldest daughter undertaker and he’s a grumpy ranger w/ a goofy partner. Macabre but not dark. Good character devt. Very cute.
