It's super important to decide on the kinds of people you want to associate & hang out with BEYOND industry/social/wealth status.
Yes, it can be good to meet those further along who may have opportunity for you, but keep in mind there are awesome people to get to know at all life/career stages.

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

It was 2:20 by the time I got home after leaving London at 7pm 😭
No regrets though, totally worth it to get to hang out with games industry friends. Not too proud to admit I've struggled a bit lately and it really filled me up to share space with thoughtful, passionate games folks again.
