Terribly impressed that Todd pronounced my surname correctly. There are English people who cannot. Worse, *north-western* people who can't.

"Thwaite" comes from the Old Norse thveit and means "clearing" or "meadow".

My favourite fact is that the element in Orkney and Shetland appears as "Twatt." 😂
