🎄 Day 14 of our #Shropshire advent calendar brings us to Bridgnorth, with the tower of St Leonard’s Church dominating the skyline. This was a day when the entire county was covered in a magical hoar frost, providing great opportunities for landscape photography. 🎅

#OTD 67 years ago my great-grandmother Lucy Mary Johnson (née Steadman) died and on this day 21 years ago my son was born. Time flies!

🎄It’s Day 13 of our #Shropshire advent calendar, and here are some ponies on the Long Mynd after overnight snow. Beautiful to look at, but I always find that they are less co-operative to photograph than sheep! ☃️

🎄 Clun Castle is the subject of Day 12 in our #Shropshire advent calendar. In the distance is Sowdley Wood, which is part of Black Hill. I waited a long time to get a picture of the castle in snow, and I finally managed to tick it off my to-do list a couple of years ago. 🎅

Remembering my father-in-law who died #OTD in 1974 when my husband was 10. This is the only photo he has of just the two of them and I love it ❤️

The Government's ambition's for the future of the railway must not ignore places like Shropshire, where transport links are nowhere near good enough.

🎄 Day 9 of our #Shropshire advent calendar takes us to historic Fish Street and St Julian's Church in Shrewsbury with - amazingly - no parked cars in sight! The street takes its name from the open air fish market which was held here until Victorian times. ☃️

🎄 Day 7 of our #Shropshire advent calendar is a wintry morning at Ironbridge, with the trees covered in a hoar frost. I spent about three hours walking up and down the gorge making the best of the conditions until the sun started to melt it all away. ☃️

A postcard from my husband’s grandfather to his wife. If you check the angle of the stamp on one of the cards he sent, it corresponds with “I love you” in the ‘language’ of postage stamps.
How romantic!!

🎄 Beautiful Stokesay Castle surrounded by snow-covered fields is Day 6 in our #Shropshire advent calendar. I thought I’d just follow the footpath, take a picture and quickly head back to the car - but I had to wait in an icy wind for an hour until the sun came out from behind the clouds! 🎅

3/3 Our Lady and St Nicholas, Liverpool, the medieval parish church of the city, though almost completely rebuilt after destruction during the Liverpool Blitz. It's the main Anglican presence in the city centre. St Nicholas is the patron saint of Liverpool, and today's his feast.
