On my way to Canberra for tomorrow’s sentencing of Shegu Bobb who was found guilty 4 months ago of soliciting an 11-year-old girl in 2020 (he was 21).

1) What sentence will he get & what non-parole period?

2) Will he even show up? He has not been held in remand since the jury found him guilty.

So is ABC or any media going to show us or spk to any Palestinians who are miraculously still alive after 2yrs of daily bombings by Israel? Seems pretty one sided at the moment. Palestinians wrongly held captive by Israel are also being released today, barely a mention.

We'll see what happens, but given the dominion the mayor has over city streets — as opposed to state-controlled things like bus fares and taxing millionaires — @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social has the potential to be a transformative mayor, a la Anne Hidalgo, when it comes to safety and livability.

Further to the NACC - a friend joined NACC in a senior capacity as it was being stood up - and resigned barely 6 months lately. A discrete person, they only (tersely) said the job was "not as advertised".
Clearly, we need to gut the bloody thing, and start again.

I glad to see the possibility of a bicycle friendly Mayor of NYC.

Rudy Giuliani (who started Vision Zero), Michael Bloomberg, Bill de Blasio and Eric Adams did little to bring down bicyclist deaths.

My daughter Robyn made a special trip to get their helmet, it did not save their life!
