Also a number of students from the university have shown up to speak with thoughtful eloquence on issues that are really important to them. Seeing that civic engagement (on a school night!) makes me really proud of the populations I work with.

I'm attending a city council meeting. Circle K wants a liquor license for *another* location in town and pro/anti positions are voicing opinions.
Pro: Circle K's lawyer, is allotted 5 min talks for 10.
Anti: Multiple residents from near the location, are allotted 5 min, talk for 5 or less.

"Fat Troops" actually sounds like a grad school party theme. Subverting the "discipline (subjugation) of the body" in uniform aesthetic into a "celebration (liberation) of the body" in a uniform aesthetic.
Drink themes would be a fun challenge.

1 of the many things I've learned in the last 12 years working in higher ed is this:
if an individual, org, center, or group consistently finds that faculty don't like working with them, and faculty push back on working with them.... it's really not the faculty that are the problem. 🤷♂️

Green Day is not my typical genre choice for music, but I saw a fantastic (tho abridged) production of "American Idiot" by a local theater troupe in Coconut Grove back in 2019. It "changed my tune" so to speak. They covered the stage in stickers & graffiti. Very neo-edgy.

Green Day is not my typical genre choice for music, but I saw a fantastic (tho abridged) production of "American Idiot" by a local theater troupe in Coconut Grove back in 2019. It "changed my tune" so to speak. They covered the stage in stickers & graffiti. Very neo-edgy.
