I like to talk about: narrative, paratext, a/b/memoir, digital culture, ed policy/law, + pop culture things (musicals 👀).

I never comment on Current Events.

TLDR, check out Ness's work. It's great! and join your union ^_^ if you want to.

Ness also has storylines about other parts of her experience working in an amazon warehouse. I've learned a lot so far and have had a lot to think about.

(I mean I also did agree with unionizing. But I might've been lazy about if they hadn't pressured us so hard not to.)

And because I had been urged to *not* talk to them, I had to listen to everything he said and I had to ask follow up questions and I HAD to sign a union card.

After the fifth week of seeing anti-union "they'll come to your house" type flyers in the bathroom, one of them DID come to my house.

I remember they sent us postcards about how the union would be bad for us. And emails. And held workshop type things.

Institutions tend to speak a bit broadly, so when one goes "Union bad. No do!" You know that pointed measure of specificity probably means they're threatened...

It reminds me of my time with a former employer that suddenly began spamming us with anti-union fear-mongering. The messaging was so **intense** that it awakened in me a hungry curiosity about unions.

I don't know if it's the tone, the art, or the fact that Ness and I have had similar experiences trying to learn more about anti-union efforts, but I really love this comic.

Earlier, Ness attends anti-union meetings & reads pro-union literature, exploring both with an open mind & sharp critical thinking skills. It's great to see a lead character objectively examine "both sides" because the obvious bologna of the corporate position shines its brightest unaided.
