Memories. Remembering. That was its job. Recalling the life stories of so many people. All those it had met. All those it had worked with. All those who had now gone. They lived on in its recall.

So listen carefully — it has a tale to tell…

Two of four planned character vignettes are DONE for next week's Shadows & Sorcery

Both came quite easily, and I think the next two will as well, which is a good sign!

Update: started a new story🔥 Not under prompt or deadline. Nah, a story now living in my mind rent-free. I'm so excited about it. Even though I'm at the very start, ideas are bubbling. It's hard (I'm slow) but so incredibly gripping. Maybe around 4k? Dark sci-fi for now.

Anita's words are a punch in the gut each time. This story is no different 🔥🥰
There's a saying about judging books by their covers but not one about titles for stories. The words Vengeance As Sweet As My Love are a compelling introduction. Translunar Travelers Lounge would love to introduce more readers to our magazine, and so welcome comments and reviews.

Definitely worth the preorder! It's an awesome story that fits perfectly into the sci-fi world many of Eric's stories inhabit.

My story "Five Books Unreturned When the Library Vanished" in issue #42 of NonBinary Review from @zoeticpress.bsky.social is:
exactly what it says on the tin
a love letter to libraries
narrated by books
a story about censorship
a story about resistance

BCS Patreon has fallen below the monthly amount we need to pay our authors a pro rate and our First Readers a worthy honorarium ($125/mo). Sometimes folks need to lower or pause their support; we understand. But less than 1% of BCS readership donates or supports. www.patreon.com/beneath_ceas... 1/3

New month, new story! I am so excited to have a piece in the latest issue of FFO, one of my very favorite magazines. Do you like queer stories inspired by myth? Petty goddesses? Ovidian transformations? Being sad? Birdwatching? “Ornithogonia, or Five Featherings” was written just for you! 🐦‍⬛

My new Genre Grapevine is an update on both the Anthropic AI settlement and other genAI class action lawsuits filed by authors. While I'm not happy with the Anthropic settlement, I've come to see it as merely the first battle in a much larger war.

I see people using AI and it makes me sad. I see people sending me AI and it makes me angry.
If you’re using AI to write your stories or create your art, you’re robbing yourself. I don’t have to let you rob me or Kaleidotrope’s readers.

I'm all about book smuggling myself lol (especially these days) 📚📚📚
We have traveled to Day 13 of TTL's story reading party and have found How To Fail At Book-Smuggling (Across Several Timelines At Once) by @emlinden.bsky.social where it is only after the captain dies that the crew start to question if the cross-time book-smuggling is actually harmless
