So it sounds like this bill that will cut medicaid, eliminate energy credits, and reduce food security is a pretty bad deal for Alaska. Yet Senator Sullivan keeps hiding from his constituents and won't stand up to Trump. Pathetic.

Instead of fighting over which state goes first there should be a multi-state primary representative of a broader electorate. Something like: South Carolina, New Hampshire, Iowa, Arizona.

Force them to compete in multiple states, geographies, demographics, etc

The House is back in session, where legislators officially get the veto letter read into the record.

They then immediately announced a joint session for tomorrow at 9 a.m. to take up an override vote.

The bill passed 48-11. They'll need 40.

Trump killed wind and solar projects that were all moving forward quickly and weren’t costing the state any money. But just to stick a finger in our eye now they want $$$$ for a pipe dream project. This has been studied since the 80’s, it’s a dumb project so it gets killed everytime.
Alaska utilities are pitching the idea of cutting their dependence on natural gas by resurrecting a dormant but divisive megaproject: a huge hydroelectric dam along the Susitna River estimated, a decade ago, to cost $5.6 billion. (via Northern Journal) www.adn.com/business-eco...

Matt claman’s legacy will be spending years shilling for the airport to destroy the coastal trail and then blocking revenue for schools to cozy up with a monopoly oil company. Pathetic.
