Jeffiot made a documentary about the Gävle Goat two years ago. Very interesting video about the controversial history of the goat, and the moral dilemmas between the people who tries to protect it, and the people rooting for its burning every year:

There is a Scandinavian Christmas tradition of making and selling small straw goats, called the Yule Goat. The most prominent example is in the Swedish town of Gävle, where a giant Goat is displayed every year.

But what makes it famous is that it has been burned in arson attacks almost every year.

"Another magical symbol that is not from the Viking Age, but that I have seen Viking reenactors paint on their shields is the so-called “Helm of Awe.” And although the helm appears in Norse sagas, the symbol is taken from a 1670 manuscript!"

I know it’s not firebox based but after some experimenting I ended up going with Arc Browser and just turned off/ disabled the AI parts which thankfully you can still do on that one.

It’s honestly been really nice to use, especially with multiple profiles.

I am working on alternate versions of my Hnefatafl game board, using a 7x7 configuration. There are two tafl games that use it, the Scottish "Ard Rí" and the Irish "Brandubh", so I made both versions.
Two layouts for game boards using a 7x7 configuration, in a norse medieval style. One is for Ard Rí, and the other for Brandubh.
