If there are currently risks to flying, that's a result of the party currently in complete control of the government. The party that forced a shutdown because they wanted to kick millions off healthcare, instead of passing a clean CR. The party that wants poor people dead. The Republican Party.

The Trump administration is, if nothing else, so self aware of their fascism, that they have taken to moving into homes generally reserved for active duty military. The reason for doing so is simple; they're now in the most secure areas of the country. Untouchable.

The Trump administration has the ability, and legal authority to provide SNAP benefits during the shutdown. The fact that Trump is choosing to allow millions of Americans to go hungry should be justification enough for impeachment, removal from office, and arrest. Trump is chosing barbarism.

15% of the population of the State of Alabama are on SNAP benefits. In just a couple of days, all of them are being cut off. Millions more people just like them across the country are in the same situation. Alabama voted for Trump by nearly 65%. Come 2028, Alabama will not have learned its lesson.

This has been the pattern for decades. Republicans hold the government hostage to make it worse, and the Democrats eventually back down. Maybe, just this once, Democrats will force the Republicans to eat the consequences of their own actions.

1. Trump admin claims that a $5B emergency fund can’t be used for it.

2. Thune said Trump wants to use SNAP cutoff as leverage.

3. 22 Dem states filed a lawsuit about it.

4. Dems willing to join many Rs for SNAP bill but Thune is blocking vote.

To call this shameless would be criminally negligent. An oversight committee doesn't have the authority to void presidential pardons. However, if that's the standard we want to set, I really hope when Democrats take power again, they negate all of Trump's pardons.
