It’s not a great deal if you don’t need it. And especially this year, others really need support. So for all of us who have enough, let’s refuse to get sucked into the holiday shopping frenzy and share instead of shop. We don’t need more stuff, we need communities where all our neighbors are safe.

Renewables routinely generate more than half of U.K electricity.

They also generate thousands of jobs, reduce our exposure to volatile gas prices, and allow us to stick two fingers up to fossil-fueled dictators.

I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.

Private investments make private profits, social benefits negligible, unfortunately.
Landlording shouldn't be a for-profit industry.

I said what I said. Before you get your boxers bunched about "who will manage apartment buildings?" please actually just go look up public and co-op housing.

All landlords do is drive up housing costs. That's it. They provide no social benefit.

72% of Australians support a total ban on gambling ads.

It’s been 881 days since the Murphy Report recommended that Parliament ban gambling advertising.

30% of Australian children aged 12 to 17 gamble - they lose nearly $20 million every year.
Gambling ad ban would pass parliament with conscience vote, Labor MP says
Macarthur MP Mike Freelander believes the multi-partisan support for restricting gambling advertising means the reforms will "get there" eventually.

I love Northern Australia, and it breaks my heart what's happening and is planned for this region. More people need to know why this place is so special and what's at risk, so I wrote about it. My first article for @australiainstitute.org.au's The Point. thepoint.com.au/opinions/251...
Northern Australia is extraordinary, and it’s under severe threat
Right now, this region, is under siege, in large part due to insatiable corporate and government desires to ‘develop’ the North.

Already corrupt, Trump craved presidential power.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

He used MAGA followers as "losers" who were easily fooled by his lies because they heard what they wanted to believe.
Three takeaways from piggy's latest post:

1. He's nuttier than a snickers bar
2. He's lashing out like a cornered animal
3. He just found out U.S military personnel are seeking legal advice on things they are asked to do by this corrupt administration.
