Little treat for bluesky newbies. This is CJ. She's the best.
Get his ass
Imagine writing this AUKUS puff piece saying “Rolls-Royce dismisses critics” of its UK nuclear reactor program and … forgetting … to mention the UK audit authority’s finding that “successful delivery of the project appears to be unachievable.” www.smh.com.au/world/europe...
‘We will get there’: Nuclear company key to submarine plans rejects AUKUS doubts
Rolls-Royce has expanded its workforce to build the nuclear power systems for the vessels – and is searching for more trainees, including Australians.

Millions of Americans are marching against Trump today. I sure hope no leader from Australia is about to pop over and bend the knee to him, offer him tribute and fawning adoration, maybe some of our resources and real estate for US military bases. Surely that won’t happen.
Using AI-generated misinformation to produce a submission to an inquiry on misinformation is a bit, right?
An anti-renewables group made submissions naming non-existent government authorities and a nonexistent windfarm, and citing scientific articles that the supposed publisher says don’t exist, a Guardian Australia investigation has found.

this is the dumbest shit i have ever read
Day 3,348 of being surprised that cartoons haven't defeated Trumpism
This shit will drive me back to Twitter
The guy who destroyed what remained of people's belief in the state to improve their lives? Oh yeah man for sure.

But it’s not a PARTY conference. It’s just a conference for organising a political movement with elected representatives with an almost perfect whip discipline headlining.
There's a certain press gallery elder who will be getting very red and nude about this

ICE arrested comedian Robby Roadsteamer for singing a parody of Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” in a Jeffrey Epstein the Giraffe costume outside their facility.

He sings “If you hate brown people / and you are a Nazi” and ICE thugs grab him and drag him into detention. No violence—just speech.
I think if you're calling Zitron substance-free you probably haven't bothered reading his work (or you just don't like his conclusions)

If you've never been to Gaza, you won't appreciate what the yellow line means. Basically Israel now holds most of Gaza's small but important agricultural land. Continued Israeli occupation, which I judge the likely outcome, makes Gaza even more unliveable and more dependent on outside goods.
Gaza Strip: Israeli army has withdrawn to the 'yellow line'

ICE hit our area hard again today. I spent the morning and afternoon on patrol, and then came home for Understory, the emotional and spiritual support group for activists I co-facilitate. @tanuja.bsky.social was going to cover for me, but I decided I needed to be there, for my sake. I was right.
Reporters at The Australian are gonna be really embarrassed when they discover what a metaphor is
More than half the country proudly wearing the fell for it again button I see
🚨 NEW: 58% of people support a "significant reduction in Australia's immigration numbers", according to a new Resolve poll

A cut is supported by a majority of Labor, Coalition and One Nation voters, while Greens voters (35% support, 32% oppose, 33% unsure) are split
I'm not sure Labor has any incentive to reform the toothless anti corruption body it designed to be toothless
Reforming the NACC is some low hanging fruit shit. The simple political lines that "We created the first national corruption commission, it's done a god job, but we've seen where the rubber meets the road that it needs to be more robust. <insert actual reform>" Vote winner with easy Senate passage.

DEWR sought an assurance report on the Targeted Compliance Framework. They got it. It told them clearly that the TCF could NOT be assured. And yet the government continues to administer this unlawful system so it can suspend income support payments for bullshit reasons.
