Proxima is the nearest star to the Sun. It is a red dwarf, 1/5 the size of our Sun and 20,000 times dimmer. Here we see it seen from the surface of one of its planets. To the left one can also make out Alpha Centauri, which is a binary star with two Sun-like components.

My artwork of a Sunset on Mars. Dust and small particles suspended in the Martian atmosphere scatter light in the direction of the Sun forward. This creates a blue halo around the setting Sun, rendering a Martian landscape quite different from its terrestrial equivalent.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 2. Still one of my favorite projects: illustrating "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird," by Wallace Stevens.

Artist manifesto:
1 - you can’t capture the world or even a fragment of it so be specific.
2 - there’s value to taking a position in your art that is more extreme and less nuanced than you might hold in your actual life, to make a point, to be a counterweight.
3 - do what you like.
That’s it

A digital sketch for a drawing. I love sketching digitally even if the plan is to finish the drawing using traditional media.

It's my birthday today, and because I am turning 31, am actively balding, and will probably die alone, I want to celebrate it by sharing some of my favorite pieces from this year. 🥳🥳🥳

If you want you can join the celebration by sharing these pieces, that would be very much appreciated. 🖤

"Bow Shock," digital drawing. REX INTERFECTVS EST ("the king is killed") is the titulus above the scene on the Bayeux Tapestry depicting King Harold's death during the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The tapestry also shows Halley's Comet, which appeared the same year King Harold was killed.
