Retired maker of maps. Currently local councillor, painter of animals, genealogist, keen walker. Still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. Pro EU, anti fascist. #annibyniaeth - Independence for Cymru/Wales.
Barry Buzzard earlier, waiting for his breakfast. He was obviously feeling shy as turned away - but look closely & you can see his yellow toes!

Another view from the dog-walk: Bannau Brycheiniog/Brecon Beacons. Still chilly but raining so not so icy now.

A bit chilly on this afternoon's dog-walk below Y Mynyddoedd Duon/The Black Mountains. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Home now & warming my hands on a nice, steaming mug of tea.

Absolutely chilling from what purports to be a 'Labour' government.

Seems Shabana Mahmood, the Home Secretary, is a member of 'Blue Labour'. Anyone come across this bunch before, I know I haven't....
'Blue Labour is a British campaign group and political faction that seeks to promote blue-collar and culturally conservative values within the British Labour Party'

The hazards of walking a border collie in Wales: all the sheep gather together & say 'Okay, where are you taking us?'. 🤣

The 'magic lane' this morning - nearly all the leaves have fallen now. And a reminder of how it looked back in August.

The red kites here like to have a final soar over the village before their bedtime. They are lovely creatures. When we came to Wales in the 1980s there were only a few breeding pairs in Rhandirmwyn, some 30 miles from here. Have they got to where you live yet?

Exactly ONE YEAR AGO TODAY (just before the presidential election) we created "Bohemian Trumpsody" ... so now people can play #Project25 bingo with what was in the parody vs what has transpired in the USA in the 365 days since ...

Another dog-walk highlight, this one from yesterday's long walk up the hill to the site of a derelict hospital.

Long dog walk on a misty but relatively dry morning today took us up the hill towards Y Mynyddoedd Duon/The Black Mountains. Or one of them, known as Y Das.

We got awfully wet on this afternoon's dog walk, but what lovely rainbows!

Autumn dog walks (continued) - this lane is a few metres from my house. I'll be sad when the leaves have all fallen as the colours are so glorious this year.

If you get fined £150 for pouring half a cup of coffee into the Thames, how much do you get fined for dumping two million tons of sh*t?

The answer of course is you have to pay Thames Water another £3bn a year.

Nothing as yet on the BBC News site about the US 'No Kings' rallies today. Hundreds of thousands of people peacefully protesting & not a word from our national broadcaster. ITV is carrying the story. BBC not fit for purpose when it's deliberately covering up momentous events such as these.

🚨 BIG NEWS from EveryDoctor! 🚨

We’ve been digging into PFIs + what we found is shocking: 💷 69 NHS trusts are locked into paying £21.1bn to private companies over the next 20 years.

That’s money that should fund doctors, nurses + patient care, not profits.

Has anyone wondered why Norbert has gone to Crete? I think I've found the reason.
The Naked Man Orchid (or Italian Testicles as it's known in Greek) grows there! Small, pink, the shape of a man with dangly bits. Common, often seen in meadows & hillsides.

Could be Norbert they're describing. 🤣
