There’s a piece of professional software that i use at work that’s like thousands of python scripts in a trench coat and I absolutely love it cause it means you can modify or tap into literally any part of it for your own needs and I wish all software was like this

Idk why it’s so hard for people to admit that Gen AI is a useful interesting technology for certain purposes and not for a lot of other purposes.
But no we have to try to shoehorn it into everything cause it’s capable of looking like it’s able to do shit it can’t.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Once you realize just how uncritical most news is of basic facts and their implications you really start to lose your mind.
I just read an article that describes at length the problem of electric motorcycles being called e-bikes but then immediately cites stats about how dangerous e-bikes are.

I think about this a lot - the America i was raised in was chock full of myths and stories about how we welcome immigrants, fight for the rights of all people, etc etc etc. Idk how you can drape yourself in the flag and ignore all these - what do these people think “give me your tired” means?

I really don’t get arguments like “schools are designed girls and female brain” - putting aside if such a thing even exists, this is just factually wrong? Historically, the school system along with most everything else in this country was clearly designed primarily for boys and men usually by men?
