every neoliberal policy analyst wants to "trim the fat" of society until the lean times come. community level resilience, redundancies, etc are good actually
When power went out across all of Puerto Rico on 16 April, a lot of the lights in the town of Adjuntas stayed on. A combination of experimental microgrids, solar panels, and storage kept power on for many businesses and residents.

I had to vote at my old polling place anyway bc even tho the Board of Elections had my info they did not UPDATE my polling info. I changed my info more than a month before Nov elections (sept) & just got my new voter card yesterday. Don’t leave it until last minute, pls! #voting #registertovote
just had a helpful online chat w a live agent at the NYS DMV about voter registration - check your registration, make sure you're registered to vote and in the right place! <3

An Elephant Hawk-moth from a few years back. Going through old, unused shots that didn't make the cut at the time is currently the only way to get my moth-fix. #teammoth

I’m so sad…. What a beautiful friend who’s left us.
After more than a century of munching on her favorite foods of romaine lettuce and cactus fruit, beloved Galapagos tortoise Gramma, the oldest resident of the San Diego Zoo, has died. https://to.pbs.org/43Tdww9

Folks, if your library doesn’t have a book you want to read, ask them to buy a copy. Most have a convenient form and will let you know when it comes in. If your library offers ILL, they can even borrow books from other libraries.

Unsolicited artist advice of the day: if you're a freelancer with no back up devices or storage, remember to pick a few things up in the black Friday sales. Even a pen drive to back up your projects so if you have a catastrophic hard drive failure you wont lose everything..learn from my mistakes. 😅

I had so much fun drawing this Gundam Leo suit, that I decided to add some ink detail and loose acrylic background. I think it might make a fun small painting in the future. #gundam #mecha #art

I want people to displace the imaginary depictions of *revolutions* that they have come to create in their heads with the actual small revolutionary acts that happen daily. We might get closer to revolution that way.
