The AWS outage exposes again that “the cloud” isn’t magic, it’s infrastructure. The issue isn’t a cyberattack, it’s architectural over-reliance on a handful of cloud giants. We centralized the internet and then made our entire lives dependent on it.

This is, by the way, a huge sign that Bluesky has the juice. And would be a great time for the team to make sure they’re focused on rock-solid moderation and enabling developers to have a good base for building. Journalists always use these accounts to justify still being on X/Twitter.

Like there is a LOT about the Dragonriders of Pern world building that is just incredibly head-scratching…but we can make the tail-forks work, gang! Because absolutely no species, evolved or modified, on a flesh eating death rain planet would be putting vitals in such a big and extraneous target!

so Pern dragons canonically have forked tails; this is typically drawn at their tail-tips.

Pern dragons also canonically utilize their forks for vital bodily functions.

Pern dragons also canonically fight flesh-eating alien rain.

A fork nearer to the body only makes sense, imo! 🎨
