We've seen the cycle multiple times since The Elder Days: some new piece of technology comes out, lots of people like it because it digs the latrine for them, older folks tutter that if you don't know why the latrine goes where it goes you will wind up poisoning the camp.

I’ve spent the last 30 years doing networking and web development and everything in between.
This is exactly where I am now.
I read Dune as a teenager and didn’t understand the Butlerian Jihad. With all that technology why not have computers do everything.
But I get it now.

i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills
