Me and my friend (The incredibly talented writer Perry Ruhland) collaborated by having me draw a ghost, and then he wrote a wonderful piece of scary micro-fiction for it. Check it out here, and read some of his other work!

“Mouth”
What follows is “Mouth”, a ghost story written by myself, after artwork by the great Trevor Henderson (trevorhenderson.com). We’ve been trying to do something together for ages, a…

Today’s books and beer (for size comparison) - Bolaño’s ANTWERP (in a convenient pocket size) and K-PUNK, the collected writings of Mark Fisher from 2004-16 (maybe kangaroo-pocket-sized, if even), plus a Clean Press West Coast IPA from Fast Fashion.
Light reading deserves a light beer. “Mimesis: The Representation of Reality in Western Literature” and a pint (or several) of Douglas Lager. One’s a PNW local, one’s Erich Auerbach.
Today’s book pick-up and a Purple Haze beer at McMenamins. Randomly heard about the Dazai and put in an order, but and tonight I’m going to see James at the Showbox, so wanted a lil’ book to read on the bus and in line.
If you’re ever foolish enough to give me your phone number, this is the kind of nonsense you get when I’m a few beers deep.

So, HWA members: the Stoker list is getting a little healthier, but definitely needs to be fed. You can nominate stuff all year round!
I can confirm you can change it at any save point, so let your heart want what it wants.
The magic of language.
And this is Batman's Aff His Nut by Robert Florence, which, in my opinion, is easily the greatest Scottish poem ever written about Batman...
Just read TWAG after seeing this and daaaaamn. Feels incredibly timely despite being written in 2009 and taking place in early 00s. Also, might explain the 25-year depression I’ve been feeling …
Oh yikes! Wishing you the best in your giant donut.
As in, the individual pieces are novellas? Or the total collection itself is novella-length?

Either way, I’m in.
I recently read The Axeman’s Carnival and really enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to reading more.
SFFH (mostly H) here, but: Denis Johnson and Raymond Chandler when I was starting, Roberto Bolaño currently, John Gardner always.
SFF writers! What writer outside your genre was a big influence on your work?
Picked this up today at @leftbankbooks.bsky.social on a books/beer excursion.

Looking forward to chatting about the collection tomorrow (officially drops next week!).

Will be a shame to miss the 42nd viewing of Kpop Demon Hunters for family movie night to do this, but I will find a way to make due. Our craft requires some sacrifices.
Tomorrow night, we will return to the Twitch airwaves for another interview!

@thomasha.bsky.social will join our ragtag crew to talk about his new collection, Uncertain Sons and Other Stories!

Join us at 7 PM Central. This Friday!
