Tried Elves at Paupergeddon. I knew that I had to dodge Madness burn, but that I had a great matchup against Terror and Faeries and a pretty good one against the rest of the field. Met Madness twice in the first 4 rounds, and also saw 4 zero-landers in round 2 against Spy combo.. 😅 1-3 drop. 1/2

In a recent podcast, @saffronolive.bsky.social captured exactly what I don't like about current Modern. Technically, the format is balanced and healthy, with many different viable decks. However, gameplay-wise, it feels like every deck is trying to goldfish into a win without trying to interact 1/2

This card seems quite good. I need to remember to get a copy for Braids.

Today I was discussing with my Pauper group whether Tarmogoyf would be good enough in the format if it was downshifted to common.
The presence of monsters such as Writhing Chrysalis and Tolarian Terror makes the answer not so clear... 😅

I took a day off yesterday (gasp!!) to hang out with my cousins at the pool. Took a nap afterwards and later watched Frankenstein but couldn’t get into it so I painted a scene from The Emperor’s Fist in procreate instead while the movie was on (this one’s for my deep-cut vorthos friends).

These cards for example see fringe PM play, are on the RL, and are quite cheap rn.

With Premodern gaining traction and many playable cards spiking (recently ODY Zombie Infestation and ALL Dystopia), I'd keep an eye on Premodern playable cards that are still cheap and part of the Reserved List.
