I'm Gnoll. I'm a ttrpg collector and player. I'm a factotum of geek interests, but not super hardcore into anything. Fan of Lamashtu and general grump with a heart of gold if you seem like a good person.

this is why session 0 is so important: knowing what kind of game you're playing is really important so you can build characters who can contribute to the story you're telling together. combat monsters are boring unless EVERYONE is a combat monster

I think PF1e has a lot of 'trap' options and I am a Big Stupid and 100% get it but just, IDK! A lot of those options are there for themed campaigns and stories. You can Choose to build your char as optimally as you want but PF1e is still DnD. The group chooses what level of power they want.

We've taken the things we love about Soulslike games and converted them into a tabletop form: atmospheric and labyrinthine worlds, layers upon layers of secretive lore, and challenging and mechanically detailed combat against epic bosses.

Every enemy has a unique Move Table, each roll of the die determining their next move. You can adjust your equipment and playstyle to tackle even the toughest bosses.

There’s no combat grid in Doomspiral, we just track your Position in relation to your enemies. If you’re up close, you’ll be more likely to tank the hits for your friends, but if you hang back you’ll be vulnerable to ranged attacks.

Doomspiral’s combat feels like a dance with death, as you learn the rhythms of battle to come out ahead of your enemies.

Doomspiral centres an enormous campaign where you explore Weftenhaal, the dying lands of the gods. You might venture to the Drowned Lands and climb the Storm Tower, ascend to the peak of the Mountain of Night, dig deep into the fetid Mirrormire or explore the heavenly city of Tar Valarn.

Each region has a host of enemies, including a member of the pantheon you will have to defeat to claim the Loom of Fate. You’ll meet a myriad cast of characters along the way: cackling shopkeeps with hidden motives, mysterious mages trying to understand the secrets of the world, and forlorn knights on impossible quests; everything you would expect from a Soulslike game.
