annoyingly keeping track of word count also helps so here is what I've managed to do this week after barely being able to write this year

very true! I hope you find something there that helps you also :) sometimes it feels silly when really simple adjustments help but it's nice finding things that work instead of doing something and getting frustrated when you can't do it in the same way or at the same pace as other people.

it's been like 2 or 3 days now and I've managed to make progress on like 5 different things I've been stalled on for awhile so it seems to be helping but we'll have to see if I finish anything lol fingers crossed 🤞

text that reads: what helped me the most was changing what time of day I write based on when my brain is working best/when I'm the most motivated so I can utilize hyperfocus better, plus giving myself word count or timed breaks so I don't get burnt out on what I'm writing and lose interest, and letting myself hop around to work on different wips or scenes out of order instead of forcing myself to finish one thing before working on something new.

I've never really thought about it before but my wips kinda go from basic description -> placeholder title -> formal title as I write like an indicator of how much I've thought about that specific story lol. How/when do you usually come up with your titles? :0

text that reads: I think it does honestly because it sort of sets the vibe or keeps me focused on whatever idea inspired what I'm writing, but most of the titles I'm keeping just happen to be wips I've written the most for, so when a title came to me it felt right! A lot of them are inspired by older things I've written or song titles/lyrics that made me want to write something, so they came pretty naturally.

I'm not the best example bc I have a hard time finishing things (lol) but the names of wips I have titles for do sort of make me excited to finish and share with people bc I'm really happy with them I guess? and the wips that are still named like "ship name, theme" or with one word theme titles I'm not keeping (like mimic or juniper) make me want to keep writing so I can figure out what their title should be (I just really enjoy titling things apparently)

mimic (placeholder title) - yoonkook, paranormal/fantasy, horror(?), mystery, trauma, cottagecore I guess(?)

it never goes away - yoonkook, grief/mourning, childhood friends to lovers, feelings realization, (requited) unrequited love, themes involving homophobia etc

I die every night - yoonkook, abuse/trauma, getting together

you'd have to stop the world - yoonkook, step-brothers, feelings realization, internalized homophobia, vintage (80's or 90's... haven't decided yet)

juniper (placeholder title) - jikook, paranormal, small town, set in the 90's, based on a book

I thought maybe I could have you - yoonminkook, polyamory, getting together, misunderstandings (this was the first thing I really worked on at length so there is quite a bit written, but I haven't felt inspired for awhile so that's on pause)

untitled currently - yoonminkook, cis girl yoonji, jikook are for sure super straight 💯, sexuality crisis, feelings realization, possible polyamory(?)

yoonmin bondage (untitled) - pwp (porn without plot/porn, what plot?) mostly finished and was intended to be a thread but I'm not sure what to do with it right now so that will have to wait!

yoonkook massage porn... it's barely outlined and I only have one scene written out of horniness but it does exist!

if anyone is wondering why my bookmark notes are like that I always put the title and author's name there in case works are privated or deleted so I know what it was. It drives me crazy when I can't remember! I also sometimes put excerpts I like there, so be mindful of potential spoilers

If you haven't given feedback yet, please do. The window is small. The terms on adult content are vague enough to put so many artists at risk of arbitrary interpretation. They conflate fictional situations with real-life abuse. Ask them to revise and clarify.
