Blessed to see D’Angelo in Detroit back in 2015.
D’Angelo onstage in Detroit during the Black Messiah tour. He’s wearing all black and the stage is bathed in reddish pink light. His arm is stretched upwards and he has a bemused look on his face. Picture of D’Angelo onstage in Detroit during the Black Messiah tour. He’s wearing a black poncho and hat. Most of the stage in the photo is in black and white, but the part where he stands is in vibrantly colored red.

Losing Assata, Miss Major and D’Angelo is quick succession has been jarring. Thankful for and buoyed by the work of all three. What gifts they all were to this world.

At the Broadview ICE "processing facility" outside Chicago.

Earlier today, federal agents unleashed chemical weapons on protesters, elected officials, a local congressional candidate, and a local mayor.

Defiant anti deportation activists remain. Another protest is planned for 7pm.

Grateful to independent journalists outside of Chicago who are talking about what's happening here. God knows we can't rely on the legacy media to report on or even amplify the truth. Also grateful for our local folks who've been running themselves ragged on the ground. I know people are exhausted.

I love the annual ritual of clocking what Ryan Ken is wearing to The Emmys. They did not disappoint and they always wear a coordinating KN95 mask!

DHS's story doesn't add up at all. The agent was on the driver's side of the vehicle. How was the driver trying to drive into him? It sounds more like he grabbed onto the driver or the vehicle as the man tried to drive away, and then shot him.

New Mexico is overriding the federal government on the topic of COVID19 vaccines to ensure their residents can access them.

States hold a tremendous amount of public health power. They should use it.

It's official: Updated COVID vaccines have been approved by the FDA, but with restrictions.

Moderna: 6 months and up if high risk

Pfizer: 5 years and up if high risk

Novavax: 12 years and up if high risk

Anyone 65 years and up is eligible for updated COVID vaccines regardless of risk status.

You gotta actively suck at something before you master it, and this is pretty much the whole reason AI evangelists are so viscerally repellent.

They're the logical end result of totally refusing to do something they suck at, expensively.

Everyone who actually got good at something, started out shitty at it, with whatever they could scrounge up for it.

And then there's the miserable assholes who refuse to suck at something or start without having won the lottery yet

A thing that fucks people up is the refusal to take babysteps in doing something they suck at.

Instead of starting where they can, and gradually improving, they just get frustrated that they're not already good at it and never even start.
