Learning this is fun. Knowing things is infinitely useful. Education shouldn’t just be a tick box towards a job, it’s a method of exercising your brain, opening your horizons, & the satisfaction of the Right Knowledge at the Right Time. Everyone should be able to learn stuff just because it’s there
I wish there was more emphasis on access to education disentangled from employability and focusing instead on enrichment because people who engage with education (or have the ability to) as enrichment interact with it differently. (And that's a whole society thing, not an in-uni thing) 7/7

Think it's important to note that Unbound is still dicking over their (former) authors. Don't pay them, buy from places that are actually paying the authors!
Quick note to anyone thinking of buying my books: please purchase the new Swift Press versions, NOT the relatively small number of Unbound versions still knocking about, & being sold by OOINYA. Unbound stopped paying me for my work early in 2024 and I will never see a penny for these books.

I’ve been working on this 1:144 scale miniature house for way too long. Building furniture with tweezers is unsurprisingly stressful

I’m being forced to watch Ronin (1998). Again. What’s the most insufferable musical I can put on next?

Tenth anniversary, I guess I should do this… if you don’t recognise the name [Jedi hand wave] you don’t need to look into it

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Share a TV series you've watched beginning to end more than once.

So many to choose from (just finished B5 for like the eighth time), gonna go with a more obscure one everyone should watch if they get the chance

My 12yo keeps wandering into the room just to tell me Half-Life 3 won’t be announced today.

One time I spent five minutes at lunch drawing a reverse centaur and it became one of my most retweeted pieces of art. I resented that so I deleted it but now it can be free again because not enough people follow me on here for it to go big

Come join me in reading and learning about a whole range of women's writing in the long eighteenth century!

It's online, it's only $55 and it runs all year! It is an absolute steal.

(And yes, there will be Gothic! As well as plenty of other things)

The new Running Man was pretty good, as a fan of the original I wasn’t unhappy with it, but the last two scenes seemed kinda… tacked on? Could have been better if it ended earlier or had one last moment of reality doubting. Could have brought Laughlin back or something

Looking up the best mid-range sewing machines so I can leave my phone open on the ‘buy now’ as a threat while I Frankenstein my 30yo machine back to life for one more final project.
