Well this was brilliant 🤩 Working through a pile of festive murder mysteries, and loved the excellently titled Murder at Mistletoe Manor by @fliceverett.bsky.social - utterly satisfied to have worked out who and why and *almost* exactly how. 🎄#Booksky

I’m sure we all unintentionally miss-sell a book, but I’m still annoyed I got convinced to read Kiss of the Spider Woman. It’s a DNF for me.

As someone who has been playing video games longer than Sacha has been alive, I can’t wait to find out the history I’ve missed.
The Meowth is out of the bag.

I am currently researching and writing my next book, 'Space Invaders' a queer history of videogames.

Just like 'Queer As Folklore' this is a subject very very close to my heart. It's very bloody exciting. What a lucky sod!

Thanks @manchesterup.bsky.social!

Community awareness and policy success are linked. Abandoning WAD has material impact.

I am reading The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, about 1/3 through, & I think I understand why there was a lot of commentary about it when it was released, now over a decade ago. I don't mind the over-explanation, and I like the inclusivity, and at this point, I'm invested.

We're nearing the end of SciFi Month—how did November fly by so fast?? So it's time to share my favorite science fiction books of the year so far. To be honest, I have not read a lot of SF this year, so this list includes some four star rated books (unusual for my Best Of lists). But I enjoyed all of these and recommend them!
