Listening to black messiah this morning, that off-kilter rhythm on prayer gets me every time

And not for religious reasons but the basilica is incredible and beautiful and gives much to think about re: the Catholic Church and money (also free to visit)

I lived in stl for a few years, it’s a cool place. Honestly the arch is cool but I’d hit the museums and skip the arch if time was limiting

So much art - go to St. Louis art museum and also the St. Louis university museum of art, wash. U’s museum (kemper gallery). Laumeier sculpture park, contemporary art museum (all of these are free!). Also city museum is super cool. Tower grove park and forest park

Hey @infinityknives.bsky.social , trevoga is beautiful. Google translate tells me the title means anxiety… any chance the full lyrics are available? I’d love to know what is being said

Pitchfork did that list of the 100 best rap albums and in the wake of that I saw lists/commentary from Buck 65, Call Out Culture, and Open Mike Eagle, all of which got me thinking so nobody asked but here's 51 albums that aren't necessarily the best or even my most favorite but important to me

Nobody talks about greatest misses but that first half bangs
garfunkle1.bsky.social
I realized that Armand Hammer half measures and public enemy greatest misses are broadly similar- first half originals that are dope, second half mostly remixes that are good but a little more hit and miss

Finally, and probably mostly importantly, I put out physical releases because it's fucking cool. Having something I can hold and sit with the artwork, lyrics, and liner notes is fucking cool. Giving that experience to others is fucking cool. Being part of something bigger than myself? Fucking cool.
