Oh, Christ, no! Martin Parr's died? Love his work and met him once in New Brighton where did a retrospective for 'The Last Resort'. Later he was walking up the seafront taking photos with such confidence it was inspiring. I tried the same in St Helens and nearly got into a fight. An absolute giant.

Martin Parr inspired a generation of street photographers with his irreverent, ironic take on British life. What a great loss.

Alien Earth is so excruciatingly bad. How could Disney produce such a mess after Andor and all the Alien movies that came before. Half way through it and hoping the whole cast will end up like the crew of the Nostromo.

There needs to be an automatic detection and labeling of AI which should be forced onto every app and every browser. With AI video and image output becoming almost indistinguishable from reality and bad actors at work to destroy our democracies, this use of AI is becoming the stuff of nightmares.

There needs to be an automatic detection and labeling of AI which should be forced onto every app and every browser. With AI video and image output becoming almost indistinguishable from reality and bad actors at work to destroy our democracies, this use of AI is becoming the stuff of nightmares.

We may be the last generation to experience a progressive democracy. Everything is sliding back, dismantled by a far right forging alliances with conservative forces and making inroads everywhere. Like Icarus, we were got too close to the sun and it melted our wings, the dream lost as we fell.

#Finland has turned cold weather into an advantage. Massive underground #datacenters — filled with thousands of servers — generate enormous heat. This energy is redirected through district heating systems to warm entire city blocks, apartments, and public buildings #heating #ActOnClimate

Democracy is being replaced by far right parties controlled by extreme ideology, billionaires + large corporation, and people will vote for them like lambs led to slaughter. By mimicking their discourse instead of providing a clear contrast, centrist parties have made far right ideology mainstream.
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.
