Sure, I mean people should be responsible and consider the reasonably foreseeable wrt their pets. If a dog is anxious and shouldn't be in a crowd well fair enough. But that isn't really particular to a protest going sideways. Anyway i hope everyone is safe and has a good time today

And there really are national security reasons to try to maintain/incentivize domestic supply in certain industries but that's not and has never been what this admin has been trying to do (and can't be done in a quarter of a year). We're just strategically adrift and poorer for this year

the admin's prosecution of the shutdown also makes D's ability to say yes harder. Thune's negotiating a normalish process. Meanwhile Vought, Miller, et al. are over there setting fire to the place and D's aren't getting any blowback by arguing they're out of control
