It's sunny and will be up to 17° today so before we go out to garden we need to make sure we are properly attired. Peleş is all ready. 🌱🌿🐕🌞

In remembrance of all those who gave everything, including their lives, for us. My grandfather fought in France with The Royal Dublin Fusiliers in the First World War. He was one of the lucky one's who made it through and returned to his family. #RemembranceSunday

My latest article is now out, and I talk about the rather controversial issue of whether to clear leaves from your garden.

🌱 One of the abutilons. Flowering maple. We also have a variegated one. Maple shaped leaves. Blooms often called “Chinese lanterns.”
Ours are in large pots. They get to over 6’ but I do hedge them down in summer. Get cut back hard in early spring. Overwinter on covered porch.
Good doers.

It’s been nearly a year since I started my Substack newsletter, and commemorate that milestone I’ve decided to add a new feature.

I want to run a monthly Q&A article as way to capture and share all the horticultural questions people have asked me.

The wild strawberries are still producing fruits! We have had nothing but cloud here the past 6 day's, not a sign of the sun and according to the forecast it will be at least another 5 days before a chance of seeing it again. Hard to get motivated when no sunshine. 🌱🍓 #BloomScrolling #Gardening

By teaching children about the Wildlife and Animals that live around us, we can help them develop respect for all forms of life. Dr. Jane Goodall rose
This delightful hybrid tea rose is noble and passionate yet tempered with the humility of its human namesake. Just like the good doctor herself, this rose is just the right mix of strength and loveliness that any rosarian can respect. For more information, access the Alt text.
