Superb. The compiler was also an interesting way to get smaller standalone runtimes back in the day. My info is probably dated badly. Be interesting for a Mike C super analysis to see if any of this holds true. Back then it was NFS storms loading libs and bins.

Neat. To follow on a light weight startup that doesn’t “load the whole house” would be a neat extension to this for sure. I wonder how many times a giant bolus of binary is read in when only the kernel is needed. This was also why we did stuff with “mex” and compiled matlab, which was fast!

Oh funny you should say that. They hunt in packs out here in metrowest. Found about 12 of them while out on a walk trying to cross the road in Hudson yesterday. Once again reminded they can fly pretty well. We had a pair on our roof not that long ago. It’s quite something to see!

I was always kinda sad for years how many PSU were in standard 1U rack pizza boxes. Also why I pushed blade servers so hard, it used to be the only option to reduce the AC/DC conversion sprawl.

Good to see this, even though 800V is kinda terrifying…
