This does not surprise me, and it's exactly why slogans like "trust science" aren't really helpful. Conspiracy theorists often think of themselves *as* scientists: they are looking at evidence and developing theories. They trust the method of science, but think it's been perverted in this case.
Well-reported, this story is quite revealing.

It seems that RFK, Jr. may be genuinely trying to evaluate scientific evidence, but he cherry-picks evidence to support his preconceived views and dismisses other evidence as corrupt.

NEW: When RFK Jr. first told Trump that Tylenol might cause autism, the president wanted to tweet out a warning. Kennedy told him not to do that. There was nuance, and the drug companies would push back. “I don’t give a shit about that,” Trump responded. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

What an incredible piece of work. So cool to read about Charcot in this vivid detail - who had such a huge effect on FND, but also ... most other neurological conditions you've heard of. And the fields of neurology and psychology. And popular culture. And...
"Charcot Redux" - @ajlees.bsky.social has written a magisterial article on Charcot, which gives you something of the man and his context.

Essential for anyone needing an introduction

One of the best articles I’ve seen on FND - and from Harvard Med, no less! Bravo 👏
What’s happening around Harvard in global health this week?
1) Habits in your 20s shape your heart for life
2) Functional Neurological Disorder
3) USAID shutdown led to hundreds of thousands of deaths
4) Single prime editing system potentially treats multiple genetic diseases

The President called for the murder of Congressional Democrats.

Congressional Democrats should call for his immediate removal or resignation.

Congressional Republicans should condemn his statements and call for him to recant them.

It's the very least they should be doing!
