Haha, I had exactly the same thought!

We have a supreme Constitution, not a supreme leader. Donald Trump, we have no kings here. We are not your subjects. We are free citizens. We will never be your subjects.

Why we couldn't reach MAGA voters, they wanted this stuff:
Trump's Truth Social account just posted this AI video of him flying a fighter jet that reads "King Trump."

AI Trump is wearing a crown while he dumps shit on protesters. He's such a pathetic little man.
Poor wasp, too – there it was, flying along minding its own business, and a gigantic thing it never saw coming slams into it at high speed. No wonder it stung. It must have been whatever passes for terrified at that level!

Sounds like the first aid office did a good job helping you, though.
Yeesh! I was at a gathering outdoors 2 or 3 years ago, and a bee flew from behind me, stung me on my elbow, and took off. I never saw it, but someone else did. It hurt like hell, so three wasp stings must have been 3 times as bad – and you were stuck on the ride! I'm glad you went to First Aid!

“Demonization of the rallies only served to boost interest, Ezra Levin, co-founder of #Indivisible, told The Post. 'I did not pay a dollar for this free publicity. It is incredible,' he said Thursday. 'They fear mass #PeacefulProtests, and that’s true of any #AuthoritarianRegime'.”

No Kings protests against Trump draw huge crowds across the country
Gatherings had a street carnival atmosphere as demonstrators packed Times Square in New York and lined Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington on Saturday

Haha – somebody posted one of those maps showing red and blue voting districts, which make the map look almost entirely red, and I replied with the comment below – and look what the MAGA asshole almost immediately did. They've got big mouths, but they're such cowards.

I hope someday we defeat fascism and in the far future, No Kings Day is celebrated as a federal holiday, and little children leave out dance mixtapes and cookies for the Resistance Frog, who leaves pocket Constitutions in their shoes.
I wanted so much to go to No Kings today, but back pain dissuaded me. Looking at this video, though, I'm kind of glad I didn't—I'm sure it was this busy in my very liberal suburb, too, and getting through crowds like this with my rollator would have been hazardous for everyone else as well as me. 🙁
Nassau County NY turned out, including a frog (next comment).

The only explanation for this is that these people would disprove the administration’s narrative about the identity of the people we are murdering. I’m a little surprised they didn’t just straight-up murder these two in custody. That’s who the government is now.
Breaking News: The Trump administration has decided to repatriate two survivors of a deadly U.S. strike this week on suspected drug runners in the Caribbean Sea rather than prosecute them or hold them in military detention, people with knowledge of the matter said on Saturday.
U.S. to Repatriate Survivors of Its Strike on Suspected Drug Vessel
The U.S. military rescued the two men in the Caribbean Sea after Special Operations forces fired on a semi-submersible that was assessed to be smuggling drugs.

Acreage can't vote and has no power. There are more actual *people* in the blue areas of this map than the red ones.

The Preamble to the Constitution began with three magic words and they were not “I, the King.”
Trump and his clown minions are taking us further and further through the looking glass.

#NoKings Platte City, MO
People showed up in their deep red towns. The fascists spread fear and didn't win.
And just down I-29 in Platte City this morning! Lady Liberty and Mark Twain made appearances!
I'm so mad at myself. I really wanted to go to the No Kings rally—had scoped out handicap parking and all.

But my back was really bad this morning, so I thought well, at least I'll be here at 2 to listen to the Susan Stamberg memorial on NPR. Instead I fell asleep while reading. So I missed both!😠😭
If you use Safari (you can install it even if you're on a different platform), you can use Reader View to eliminate all the ads, including pop-ups. I have it set for "use automatically" for this site, and now it's very pleasant to read there. You can also adjust the font size (I need new glasses!).

I am really surprised that there were almost no counter protesters. Didn't they want to use their "Fuck Joe Biden" and "Let's Go Brandon" flags?
I’ve seen just one counter-protester at No Kings San Diego. He’s got a Trump 2024 flag and this guy has been following him around for probably an hour playing Benny Hill and circus music.
Oh no! How many times did it sting you? It attacked you *while* the roller coaster was going – that's such weird behavior … did it get tangled in your clothes? Or forced against you by the wind and couldn't fly away? Such an odd thing to happen!

What did they do for you? Is it still painful?
Similar story here, although it goes back to the old days of Usenet. My inflammatory arthritis kept getting worse, while my Dr insisted it wasn't progressive. Eventually I heard about fibromyalgia—almost unknown in the 1980s. I asked my Dr, he pressed some tender points, and said Yes, you have it.
I'm glad you're not feeling too awful – hope you're feeling much better soon!I'm
She's such a great dog! I love hearing about her, but it does make me miss the dog I had in the 1960s-70s. A random terrier mix foundling, he was also extraordinarily intelligent. Like your girl, once he learned how to learn, he only had to be shown once what you wanted and he'd understand & do it.💔
