Baby boomers (27% of pop) will all be dead in less than 20 years (only 4% of Cdns live past 80). The reality of long-term planning is that the housing, hotel, retail (& especially publicly funded stadiums) will be very different in 20 years. Developers need time to built in tons of flexibility

Pfft, rogue?! Our mayor and council do not have the balls to challenge DoFo. His sponsors & donors control a lot of “campaign contribution” cash. Our councillors would raise school zone speed limits to 80 for a few $1200 “contributions”.

I can kinda see their point. In Findlay Creek it is unheard of for any child to walk even 50 meters to school. Every single kid gets a drive. Rain or shine. There are about a 1000 cars crammed into a couple blocks twice a day.

It won’t cost the govt anything. They just raise the rates. Even if the cost of the actual housing goes down, the cost of ownership stays the same with increased fees & taxes.

Just today saw a guy going 110 through the unpatrolled 60 k section of Ramsayville, but cops are more concerned about cyclists. Until a bike is stollen, then they suddenly dgaf.

Nobody from Barrhaven or Kanata is driving to Lansdowne for shopping or a movie or a meal or even a farmers market. They have way better driving destination options for all those things.
90% of suburbanites would not be able to identify QED on a map.
