I share this with respect for the many excellent journalists at the BBC.

And with the hope that transparency helps strengthen, not weaken, our democratic culture. /5

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

I have long had an obscure, complex theory about Susan Collins that explains these things.

Susan Collins is terrible and anyone who ever suggested she is a moderate is a liar or a rube.

That's it. That's the whole thing.
In case anyone is wondering what kind of campaign Collins intends to run next year, now we know. No achievements, only hate:

Collins' office said she signed onto the petition because she agrees with President Donald Trump’s interpretation of Title IX.

Why is it never "Mr. Republican, what is your message to your Jewish constituents who have reasons to believe your association with Neo-Nazis puts them in danger?"

The media doesn't treat the Trump regime's allegiances with neo-Nazis like Nick Fuentes as antisemitism, but Zohran's belief in Palestinian liberation is treated as antisemitism.

It's completely backwards and insane. Zohran will protect American Jews; the fascists will target American Jews.
WELKER: What is your message to Jewish New Yorkers who feel you won't be tough enough in your response to antisemitism?

My hot take is that over the next 10 years, we're going to see more emphasis on and investment in the humanities at Ivy League and other fancy schools just as state schools and small privates continue to decimate and even eliminate the humanities.
"While other universities report that the humanities are shrinking, at Berkeley, the opposite is true. The music major is the fastest-growing major on campus. We are finding bigger classrooms because film is exploding. English is back to the numbers we saw 15 years ago. We are hiring" bit.ly/4ohKuOe

DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

I think we'll also see a growing divergence at the secondary level between schools that lean into and those that lean away from AI, LLMs, and digital forms of education. There'll be a premium on traditional forms of education that emphasize human interaction, physical books, and independent thought.

Why did the nation that used Christianity to justify slavery, ethnic cleansing of indigenous populations, racial segregation, homophobia and preemptive war elect a dumb racist crook who's the opposite of everything Jesus taught?

Is that the question?
The real question we need to ask ourselves as a nation is, WHY did so many people vote for this in the first place? Trump is the symptom. Not the problem.
Who would've guessed that "the Mark of the Beast" would wind up being just a clot of cheap spray-tan goo.
