Sustainable travel is my thing. Pedestrians, cycling, public transport. Our Council is extremely car-centric and has poor track record on delivering active travel options. CEC = Cheshire East Council. Green Party Member. Cycling UK local rep.
"Brave" driver mistyped his registration. Love the way the press has chosen to present this story. Classic.

How is Cheshire East doing on delivering the walking part of its 2021 LCWIP in Congleton, Wilmslow and Macclesfield? FoI submitted.

London ULEZ working as it should.

CEC are on the case with the LTP Consultation. I emailed them yesterday about something and they said they were happy to chat on the phone about it. I declined as I had submitted written comments but it was nice that they gave me that option. Impressed for a change.

Pavement needs sweeping. Reported. They don't do it due to the parking stopping the machine. They don't like doing it by hand...

The driver of the white van pulled onto the footway is causing chaos. But he doesn't care. Victoria Road, Macclesfield.

Good positive meeting on site with a local campaigner to share our thoughts on the potential location and design of a pedestrian crossing near Macc General Hospital. We agreed on all points.

The Cheshire East draft LTP includes people on horses. I'm not convinced that horses are used as transport in any real way. Probably just some stolen clipart?

Tomorrow I'm meeting a campaigner to discuss a possible new pedestrian crossing near Macc hospital. It's all go.

A small success. I have managed to get CEC to paint H bars to denote the dropped kerbs by the ships on Kennedy Avenue. I wasn't expecting them to take any notice of my request.

The abuse on Facebook of Traffic Wardens doing their jobs is deeply unpleasant. Just saying.

This is bad news for those of us who have given up car ownership.

It looks too fragmented to deserve the epithet "a network".
TfL's cycleway network had 90km of routes in 2016. Now it’s more than 430km.

And Londoners are cycling like never before, with 1.5 million bike trips every day.

We’ll continue to work with TfL and London’s boroughs to make cycling safer, easier and more accessible for all.

Parked at Manchester Airport. I wonder if it was towed away, or possibly destroyed as a security risk?

Victoria Road in Macc is dreadful. Here's my suggested plan. Constructive criticism welcome. Key in next post.

Some of the folks who live in Prestbury are keen to support migrants and avoid tax apparently.

Is it just me or are farmers causing havoc in London being treated differently to @just-stopoil.bsky.social demonstrators?

This is pretty poor response to an obvious question.
Rachel Reeves is asked about how the 3p a mile electric vehicle charge will work for new cars, when they don't have to have an MOT for 3 years. So who will monitor the mileage in order to calculate the tax owed during that period?

Reeves doesn't know.

I had a lift in a plug-in hybrid car yesterday. The owner proudly said that it did 52.5 miles per gallon on average. I resisted the opportunity to tell him that our 14 years old petrol car does 55 miles per gallon. Plug-in hybrids always seem like a scam to me.
