I did a thing! Hit me up if you’d like to join the standingintheodds.com club! Would love for it to be a common domain to find all your favorite shiny hunters

Oh no, we are going to be bidding again each other in the coming years it seems

I shouldn’t have to say this but if you post leaks to the standing in the odds feed, I will remove you.

Please respect others in the community who want to experience the game the intended way. Posting leaks is extremely unkind and a clear violation of the rules

Slow and steady wins the race friendo. I'd rather have 10 Cilerba videos over the next 10 years than 2 in the next month then nothing because you burnt out.

Gotta take care of yourself first

If you can find an existing PCB design somewhere then yeah it’s “just” ordering it from PCBWay/JLCPCB and moving the parts over (this is actually fairly challenging but doable)

If you can’t find one then it’s _much_ harder because you have to hand solder hair thin wires everywhere that is corroded

Responded in the other thread! It might be salvageable but it would probably better serve as a parts donor to repair other Pokewalkers
fexcollects.standingintheodds.com
Honestly it’s in rough enough shape that a PCB swap is probably easier than repair but I haven’t seen anyone make a replacement PCB for the Pokewalker yet
fexcollects.standingintheodds.com
Most likely it’s repairable yeah but there is a lot of damage on this PCB. Anyone with the skill to do it would likely charge more than it costs to just get a replacement. It could be a fun project if you wanted to learn soldering though.

Very glad I never got into that app lmao
fexcollects.standingintheodds.com
wtf it’s going to be impossible to avoid that one
fexcollects.standingintheodds.com
TBH that looks like quite a bit of water damage to me. That white square should have a pink pattern on it (it changes color once it gets wet) and the PCB is showing signs of damage
fexcollects.standingintheodds.com
Hmmm, yeah assuming the battery was brand new and installed in the correct orientation then it’s probably something internal.

Maybe something like a solder joint that disconnected over time but I’m not really able to say more than that without looking at the PCB

There are open seats near me! You can probably make it if you run

3D printers too! Kind of crazy that you can find loads of CNC derivatives in every workshop

Yes! The machines that assemble the games have a tape feeder and a tiny vacuum nozzle that picks up each part and places it on the PCB. It can fully automatically assemble thousands of games at a time without human intervention. It’s honestly a really cool process youtube.com/shorts/CjMiN...

The parts arrived today!

I’m still waiting on the tariff bill, once I have that I can calculate the exact number of parts per person!
