Folks, here's the thing. I am _happy_ to hear your opinions on AI. I have in fact, in part due to feedback I've received, stopped using AI art in work product I create because I agree that it cheapens any brand it's used in.

My biological father is visiting from California over the next few days. Kind of wild hearing stories about how I came to be and understanding crazy life that has lead him there. Makes me appreciate how lucky I am in so many ways to live the life that I do.

Went to see an allergist for the first time yesterday.
She prescribed a saline / steroid sinus rinse.

Well that's interesting.
For all the struggles I've had trying to get modern web browsers to not perform like hot garbage on this 2009 Macbook Pro..
I'm typing this on Firefox latest and it performs like a champ.
Credit where credit is due #firefox. Well done!

@latenightlinux @felimwhiteley It amuses me that you can't even begin to imagine why people enjoy puttering around with retrocomputing.

Somehow, "learn how to mess with Homebrew builds" ended up being something I did years after I stopped using a Mac.

Hrrm. I deleted my bluesky account and asked @bsky.brid.gy to bridge my account there.
No sign of https://bsky.app/feoh.org
I'll give it a number of hours and look again.
It's possible my bsky account deletion didn't percolate all the way through before I activated the bridge.

The one thing I'm struggling a bit with the 2009 Macbook Pro is web browsing.
Was using Falkon, but that hangs/crashes every few minutes.
Trying Midori now, that seems to crash less, and perforks "OK" but is still a bit slow.
Glad I undertook this project even if, in the end analysis I […]

Have you been considering donating, but worried that we might be running out of space? Worry not! A new challenger appears! @Yhg1s has committed ANOTHER $5000 match, raising our total matching funds to $17,000, which (modulo a few additional receipts I need to process) means we are down to 43%.

In light of the PSF's recent loss of an NSF grant and attendant funding shortfall, I will be matching donations up to $5000. Send me your receipts.
Very happy if you've already donated for similar reasons but the point is to motivate *new* donations so be sure the timestamp is after this toot 😉.

If I weren't such a non fan of tattoos comprised solely of text (They tend to, IMO, age badly unless they're REALLY big) I would seriously consider getting "Think Big. Don't Fixate. Don't stay stuck. JUST DO IT" tattooed somewhere very visible.

@martin I tried Nix, and I really like it! Some of the ideas are really neat and powerful.
But I also learned something about myself in the process: I LIKE actually doing all the detail work.
