Many, many unpaid labour-hours will be required for the ICLR authors and organizers to sort this mess out, and the conference will be worse for it. A perfect case study on why AI productivity gains are largely a mirage.

If we look back at old science papers, what percentage drew incorrect conclusions? I don't mean how many had data that turned out to be flawed, but how many used good data to claim something that later turned out to be Wrong? I suspect the percentage is quite high but it would be hard to check.

Carney’s deal with Danielle Smith is the sellout of the century: scrapping climate legislation for a pipeline that will never be built.

We need powerlines, not pipelines. Our path is through climate leadership & building good jobs in the clean economy.

I'm anxious about being in Hawaiʻi and I just realized why. In Honolulu, where a car is needed to get around, I often agonize about when to go out so I'm not stuck in traffic. In London or Paris, I just go because I cycle everywhere and cars on the road don't impact my travel times. #CarsRuinCities

Half your brain cells are astrocytes, oscillating and modulating activity without spiking, while cortical neurons spike sparsely. So nearly 100% of cells are oscillating almost all the time, but only a minority of cells emit rare spikes. Maybe spikes are the tail and oscillations are the dog.

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.

Canadians are waking up to the reality that the new Carney government seems more interested in enriching MAGA billionaires than making good on the "elbow's up" promises that they campaigned on. The Juice Media nicely illustrates this with Ksi Lisims
Friends, can I ask a favour.

Our latest Honest Government out is a serious warning to Canada from Australia, which acts as a cautionary tail about the harms of the gas (LNG) export industry... Hence the cameo (spoiler alert) from our own aussie climate criminals, Woodside Energy

Yes, this is correct. And the reason is because our capitalist classes have decided that it is not sufficiently profitable, so they're not going to do it.

We must understand this reality. Capital *cannot* be relied upon to address the climate crisis.

I continue to be horrified by mainstream media bias in covering Israel's genocide. Why are all 20 Israelis "hostages", when 3 are soldiers, but thousands of Palestinians held without charge are "prisoners"? Why take for granted that Palestine must disarm but the genocidal Israeli state must not?
"It’s not as if there aren’t plenty of media-ready Palestinian or Palestinian-American guests to choose from, chief among them Palestinian-American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who has not appeared on any of the major Sunday news shows since 2019."
