been reading and watching a lot of herpetology stuff lately in addition to the entomology stuff (mostly parasitoid wasps, also other vespids) i had been getting into the last few years. it's fun!

one of the more obvious examples of snakes just being lizards, like imagine that with legs! technically it even has them, boas are one of those families of snake that universally have tiny vestigial leg claws somewhere on their bodies

if you've ever really wanted to see a wide fucking snake, google eryx conicus, which is one of the rare boas to have a midsection significantly wider than its head. and yes they are constrictors!

when i was a kid i didn't understand how this worked and i thought every CD that was manufactured had to have a monster put onto it. like they'd go up to ringo starr or whatever and ask him what monster he wants and he'd say "ouhh this DEfinitely has a "Battle Rocks" quality to it! peace and love.!"

i love when voice actors have really dramatically different notable roles, and people who do a lot of dub work are great for this. the jp dub voice of frodo baggins is namikawa daisuke, who also voices hisoka, by the way
