2026 Democratic Candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine |
Chaplain for the DC Guard on January 6th | Winning with Radical Empathy and Courageous Reform
Pinned
In Maine, we show up, speak honestly, and take care of one another. It's time for our leaders to do the same. That’s why I am ready to dedicate my skills and expertise to MOVING MAINE FORWARD in the U.S. Senate.
I’m running to become Maine’s next senator because we don’t have a country divided into two political parties.

Being a senator is about understanding the needs Maine within the context of the other 49 states.

The challenges our state faces requires more than partisan games.

Mainers are a people that stand in the middle, holding out stretched arms for our neighbors.

We’re the bridge that’ll remind Republicans their party has been hijacked!

I’m running and stepping up to be that person.

The person that brings our state together and defeats Susan Collins!
Had a great time in Maine and was honored to share the stage with my friends, Vice Chair of the DNC Malcolm Kenyatta and Gov Pritzker! Great job Maine dems. Because elections aren't won on election day! Bye bye Susan Collins.

After the event, I hooked up with Officer @libradunn1.bsky.social, and had a great time talking with him about January 6th and our political climate in America!

As a Chaplain for the DC Guard, taking care of our Capitol Police Officers in the aftermath of the attack was a core part of our mission.

We really need to stop saying childcare. It conveys this a very incomplete view of early childhood education.

An infant begins learning from birth. Sounds, noises, smell, touch, taste.

We must invest nationally in establishing an early childhood education system from age 6 months to 6 years old.
For far too many families, the cost of childcare is driving them out of the city they love.

New Yorkers deserve to be able to afford to raise families here.

I was born and raised in Illinois (Yes…I am FROM AWAY)

And the Land Component Command Chaplain for the DC Guard on January 6th.

So yeah…I’m totally stoked for tomorrow!!!!

I love the way this post is worded.

When I talk about healthcare reform, it’s really about breaking it down into specific buckets.

Outpatient primary care, in-patient care, long term care, mental health, pharmaceuticals

We can do better and tackle problems when we deal with them in nuanced ways
As a direct primary care physician, I don’t accept insurance, and yet I know how important it is for patients to have affordable healthcare for emergencies and anything beyond the scope of outpatient family medicine. I’m deeply disappointed in Sen Angus King. He screwed us all.

Profit margins on coffee have been squeezed pretty tightly due to increased supply costs.

That said, an extra $0.50 on a cup of coffee to pay someone a living wage really isn’t that hard.
Starbucks Workers United, as of 3 hours ago, is officially ON STRIKE. They want to tell supporters nationwide: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS at any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike.
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I arrived in Portland tonight and will be here through Saturday for the @mainedems.bsky.social Gala and Pre-Event for the Senate candidates.

So many wonderful conversations with Mainers in Portland the last few hours.

Grateful to have met them and earned their support for the primary.

MAGA and the DSA have a lot in common. Both are deeply unserious about governing.
November 13, 2025 at 2:01 AM
So why exactly did I just get a poll asking me if I prefer Graham Platner as the democratic nominee in CD2 or Paul LePage as the Republican nominee?

The ideal of America is forever the unfinished and humble dream that we can live together with those who believe different, look different, and think different than ourselves, and all become better for it.

The moral injury from things like the Capitol attack are something I doubt I’ll ever fully recover from.

Grateful for the friendship that’s developed between @jordanwood.bsky.social and I.

He was at the Capitol that day, and I was helping with the response effort as a Chaplain for the DC Guard.

Just for the sake of clarity:

I’m a democratic capitalist.

I have plans for better government programs that covers:
Healthcare
Jobs
Education
Childcare
Energy

But if you’re interested socialism as the means of getting there, I’m not your candidate.

“Who are the rich?”

I easily qualify as rich.

The inflation indexed military pension that I have is worth $1.5-1.7M.

I got that by serving our nation as many veterans do.

The real question isn’t inherently about wealth, but about continued service and adding value back to society.
"Do the rich have too much political power in the US?"

Democrats:
🟢 Yes: 96%
⚫️ No: 1%

Independents:
🟢 Yes: 87%
⚫️ No: 4%

Republican:
🟢 Yes: 68%
⚫️ No: 15%

We must fix and restore to military service our trans service members.

If someone is willing to take a bullet to the face for your ability to openly hate their existence. You know what you do?

You sit down and say, "Thank you for your service"

One of the many reforms that are deeply needed is for the government to cover COBRA costs while someone is actively looking for a job.
I'm with you, Tia, I and millions of good, hard-working Americans. It's going to take time, sticking together, and lots of helping each other, though things will get better.
I feel awful. The country is crappy and people are cruel and my son got fired and I’m just really sad. People need healthcare and I’m frightened and I can’t understand republicans. My lab lost funding and we’ve had layoffs. I’m worried.
Today sucks.

Sorry guys.
I just needed to get it all out.

Question for all you @grahamformaine.bsky.social supporters out there.

Does he get a pass on lying, Nazi tattoos, homophobic comments, and excusing sexual assault, because he’s a veteran?

Cause he chose that, multiple times, got out, and chose it again as a contractor.

So I’m really lost. Thanks.

I’m running because I want my kids to grow up in a better world than the one we’re currently living with.

One where they can thrive and belong to communities that encourage and protect them.

Where respect for individual freedoms and healthy disagreements mean we still eat together as Americans!

Government is serious business for serious people.

The people of Maine deserve a senator who can fight for their needs because they understand how government works.

You can’t fight a system that you don’t understand.

I’ve spent my life developing systems and making government more efficient.

Hey folks, I'm one of the candidates in the democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

I think it's important that people know there are several of us running in this primary.

While @grahamformaine.bsky.social was using a fake name on reddit to make homophobic slurs, I was out there publicly standing up to Army leadership about how the Army needs to do better at supporting LGBTQ+ Soldiers and families.
